Course Pre-requisites
Although a candidate does not need
to have formal prior knowledge in the form of a recognised
qualification, some knowledge and practice of electrical
installation in dwellings is required. We always recommend
a minimum level of ability in literacy and numeracy
at Basic Skills Level 2. Support is available for candidates
with reading/writing disabilities.
Course Length: 4 days
including training and assessment.
Length of Qualification:
5 Years
We are finding that most people are
opting for the EAL Domestic Electric
Installer course. It does not cost that much more
than the others yet provides a Full Scope Lifetime Qualification
as a "Domestic Electrical Installer" rather than one
that has to be renewed every five years. This allows
the holder to work under Corgi and Oftec registrations
yet extends the work range to NICEIC (and similar scheme)
registration.
1 Non-electricians
means an experienced person who works with electrics
as a part of their job but who are not qualified electricians
- examples include gas engineers, oil engineers, plumbers,
kitchen fitters, landscape gardeners, etc.
Course Dates
We run these courses subject to demand as most people
opt for the EAL Domestic Electrical
Installer course, which we run monthly.
